Cristiane has a B.Sc degree in Forest Engineering (2003) from the Rural Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ), with a Master Degree in Soil Science at same University, and a Ph.D. in Vegetal Production in the North Fluminense State University (UENF). Her thesis evaluated the influence of revegetation with eucalyptus and leguminous trees in the soil quality of an area degraded by clay extraction. She was a Post-Doc at the National Centre for Soil Research (Embrapa Soils) in the project “Impacts of land use change in the La Plata river basin on soil carbon stocks, with an emphasis in the Cerrado biome”. She is currently a Post Doc Researcher at UFRRJ in collaboration with the National Research Center for Agrobiology (Embrapa Agrobiology) working with soil quality indicators in the Atlantic Forest biome.  She has experience in forest resources, with focus on soil reclamation, soil quality indicators, micorrhyzal associations, glomalin, microbial biomass and soil enzymes.
