Bachelor in Physics (1986) with Master (1989) and Ph.D. (1994) in Applied Physics from the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. International experience in internships and Post-Docs performed in UK, France and the United States. Currently is adjunct professor at Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP, Brazil) performing education (undergraduate and graduate), research (advising graduate students, coordinating projects) and administrative activities. Main research focused on the characterization of the soil CO2 emissions from agricultural areas and other environments, such as Antarctica and Maritime Amazon. Team member of FAPESP Program Coordination on Global Climate Change.
