Biography

Christopher is a Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Development Research (ZEF) and lecturer in Agroecology at the University of Bonn, Germany. He holds a PhD in Biology (1989, University of Göttingen, Germany) and has work experience in climate change, soil science and sustainable agriculture in South America, Central Asia, Africa and India. He has published about 100 scientific articles on tropical ecology, nutrient cycling, soil ecology and biodiversity and is co-editor of several scientific books, most recently “Cotton, Water, Salts and Soums: Economic and Ecological Restructuring in Khorezm, Uzbekistan” (with I. Rudenko, J.P.A. Lamers and P.L.G. Vlek; 2012).
