Mette Termansen obtained her PhD from the University of York, UK, in Environmental Economics, working on spatiotemporal modelling approaches to forest economics. After working as a research fellow at York, she took up a position as Lecturer and later as Senior Lecturer in Ecological Economics at the Sustainability Research Institute at Leeds, UK. In 2009 she was appointed Professor in Environmental Economics at the Department of Policy Analysis (now Environmental Science), Aarhus University, Denmark. Her main research areas are in integrated ecological economic modelling and ecosystems services modeling and valuation. She has worked on a range of environmental issues related to modelling of land use. These include land use and climate change impacts on species distribution patterns, quantification of adaptation capacity to climatechange in agriculture, recreation modelling, and evaluation of land use policies for water quality improvements.
