Co-author to the SCOPE Rapid Assessment Project on the Benefits of Soil Carbon

David is Senior Lecturer in Environmental Engineering and his research focuses on assessment and remediation techniques for soil and water contamination using experimental techniques in combination with modelling. He is fundamentally interested in the working of all processes determining the pollutant fate in the environment and Environmental Engineering systems, but especially diffusion-limited mass transfer, sorption of organic compounds, and interactions of these processes with biodegradation. An area of special interest is the use of carbonaceous sorbent materials for in-situ pollution sequestration in soils and sediments.
